FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Family and Senior Portrait Sessions
FAQ - FAMILY & SENIOR
Q: I have no idea what to wear. Do you help with styling? Absolutely. One of the hardest parts of a session is coordinating outfits. I provide a Style Guide and offer personal consultation to ensure your family’s wardrobe complements the beautiful California golden hour light.
Q: Where do the sessions take place? I know all the hidden gems in our area, especially Thousand Oaks. Whether you want tall grassy fields, oak groves, or the beach, we will choose the perfect backdrop for you.
Q: My children are shy/high-energy. Can we still get good shots? Yes! I am a mother, teacher, and a seasoned photographer. I have plenty of tricks to bring shy kids out of their shell and channel high energy into dynamic, fun photos. We work on their timeline.
Q: How long until I get my photos? You will receive a sneak peek within 48 hours to share on social media. Your full, hand-edited gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks.
Q: How do I book a session with Julie Campbell Photography? Book your session by clicking HERE. Choose a date, fill out the form, and pay your deposit. Reach out anytime by phone, text, email, or website. Book early to get your preferred date and time.
Q: Can I see your portfolio? Absolutely! I would never book a photographer without seeing what their work looks like.

Q: What is included in a photography session? Choose between a DELUXE or MINI session. Both options include meticulous editing of all of the images, and a link where you can download the digital files. You have an option to purchase albums, wall art, and prints. You can see the details of what is included in both types of sessions here: FAMILY SESSIONS or SENIOR SESSIONS.
Q: When is the best time to schedule a photo session? The best time depends on what you want. For outdoor photos, early morning or late afternoon/evening has the best natural light. The season matters too—spring and fall look different depending on where you are. Surprisingly, I prefer beach sessions in winter because of low tides and fewer people.
Seniors: don’t wait until the end of the year! You will be so busy, and you won’t have time to get your announcements out. Consider booking your session for the summer before your senior year, or anytime up until April.
Q: How do we prepare for the session? Once you book your session I will send you a pdf with all of the information you’ll need for how to prepare for the most successful photo session.
