Christmas in Southern California

What happens when you want those family portraits where you are playing in the snow together in your warm clothes, but it doesn't snow, or get particularly cold where you live? Monica decided to bring her own snow. She is the master of bring Christmas into her family portraits. Last year we went to the beach and they decorated a tree right there on the sand. You can see them HERE. The images from that blog post are by far the most pinned session from my website on Pinterest. I wonder how many other people used the idea for their session this year.

That brings us back to 2014. Luckily it was a bit chilly the day of our session so they weren't sweltering in their sweaters. Their two busy children really loved the fake snow and had a great time throwing it all over the place. I'm sure they were still brushing it out of their car for weeks. It's always a great idea to have something different and fun for the kids to do during their photo session, especially if they are busy and like to run.

I hope you're all enjoying the build up to Christmas, Hanukkah, and the new year. I hope your mailbox is filled with family photos of those you love. It's my favorite thing about Christmas.

Three's Company

I was lucky enough to photograph big brother when he was just born. Now he has a sister and a brother. What a blessed family they are. It is such a joy for me to see families grow and progress through life. I truly do love my job and wouldn't want to do anything else. I hope my clients always understand how much appreciate their trust in me to document the milestones in their lives.

This session was made much more personal because we photographed them in their home, and used items special to them. It will be nice for them to look back and see how small he was when compared to his dad's shirt.

Three

Ah, these boys. They are a bundle of energy that never diminishes. They keep me on my toes these two and I love it. They turned 3 this year, and their mother even managed to get shirts with their age on them. I met them when they were only one. Time flies by so fast!
